Monthly Wrap || March 2019

Monthly Wrap

It feels like March has simultaneously dragged on forever, and that it’s over in the blink of an eye. So let’s cram it all in to one post, shall we?

Life Beyond the Blog

I feel like I haven’t done much, and yet I also kind of have. I played and finished some video games over my spring break early in the month, read plenty of books, and also applied to a summer program that might just help me get my foot in the door in the publishing industry! Fingers crossed on that last one, though. Decisions aren’t out yet, and I don’t think they will be for at least a couple more weeks.

Oh, and I got to go to one of the stops on the tour for VE Schwab’s The Near Witch, and it was truly amazing! I’ve linked to the recap below if you want to hear me gush about it! ❤️

On the other hand, there’s a lot I didn’t do. Like read more, finish certain stages of my thesis early, and apply for jobs. All things I now have to play catch-up with. That’s on me, not on any outside force, and I recognize that. No sweat. But also some sweat, because I’m starting to get into the big scary part of pre-graduation and OH NO IT’S SO MUCH.

Sometimes it feels like this is going to be my life now, this circus of catching up on some things and falling wayyyyy behind on others. Can anyone confirm this is not the case? Anyone? 😳

Books Read and Reviewed

This month, I got through SeafireWords of RadianceEdgedancer, and The Steel Prince: Vol 1. As you read this, though, since I write my monthly wraps the day before (SHHHH, IT’S A SECRET), I very possibly have added This Savage Song and Our Dark Duet to the list of books I finished reading this month! Actually, it’s just about a guarantee; I’m more likely to read books for fun when I have major assignments hanging over my head, which I do now. Oh dear.

Next Month’s Reads

Next month is mostly an ARC month! I have a few desperately due, namely Keep This to Yourself, King of Fools, and The Hummingbird Dagger, but want to get ahead on a few others! I also plan to get through Four Dead Queens very, very shortly because I NEED MURDER MYSTERIES.

Basically, I’m getting extremely ambitious for someone who has her senior thesis due in about two weeks. Oops.

As always, here are the posts I had the most fun sharing with you all this month!

Kat @ Novels and Waffles makes an excellent case for why a DNFed book isn’t a bad book!

Kaleena @ Reader Voracious (my almost blog birthday twin! so close but not quite!) gets transparent about blogging stats after a year of blogging, complete with spreadsheet wizardry!

Vicky @ Vicky Who Reads conducted a brilliant survey about author-blogger interaction, and shared the responses of bloggers here!

And that’s it for March! Time to move into April and hope it isn’t too outlandish to handle!
