Top 5 Tuesday || Books I NEED to Read in 2019

Top 5 Tuesday

It’s that time again: T5T time! Shanah @ Bionic Bookworm is back with new prompts for the new year, and I’m excited to get back into it all over again!

Of course, this week is all about top anticipated reads, because what else is January for?

The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson

Last year, I burned right through Truly Devious, which was actually the first review on this blog, and I NEED MORE. I NEED ANSWERS. What’s always on a staircase, but never on a stair? What riddles are we going to solve this time? WHO DID IT?

Okay, so I’m pretty sure this is supposed to be a trilogy, so that’s an answer we won’t get for a while, but still. Question stands. I WANT TO KNOW.

The Legend of Eli Monpress by Rachel Aaron

I know, I know, I was supposed to get to this over break! And so far, I haven’t! Time is relentless and this is actually a three book bind-up, so have mercy on me. I will get to it, because there’s magic and conmen and it was a rec from a friend. It’s going to happen, trust me.

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson

This one is on loaner from another friend, and I HAVE TO FINISH IT. I hate borrowing books for a long period of time so much because it makes me feel so guilty, so I need to burn through the 1k pages of this sucker and return it.

And if all goes well (and I hope it will; this friend’s recommendations have never steered me wrong), then I’ll be looking to borrow the two-volume set my friend has of Words of Radiance.

Descendant of the Crane by Joan He

A beautiful cover? A murder mystery? An ARC sitting in my Kindle getting very impatient with me?

Basically, I need to read the hell out of this one ASAP, and it’s starting to look like this post is just about my top five need to reads for JANUARY ALONE.

Someone send help because HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KEEP THIS AT ONLY FIVE BOOKS?

Sadie by Courtney Summers

It’s been a while since a book has properly ripped my heart out (since ACoL or so in August?), and I’ve been told by multiple people to brace myself for loving Sadie but also for suffering, SO.

It’s angst time. Hit me with it.

What are your top priority reads this year?
