The Weather in Books Tag!

The Weather in Books.png

It’s time for another tag! This time, I was tagged by Kaya @ A Fictional Bookworm, and this one looks like fun. Thank you, Kaya!

Sunshine: A Book That Made You Smile

Sightwitch Cover

Sightwitch by Susan Dennard had me BEAMING because it sheds some light on certain plot points of the Witchlands series yet to come, and while it isn’t necessary reading to understand the series, it does make for an excellent basket of easter eggs for the devoted fan. I’m POSITIVE I’ve figured some things out by now!

Rain: A Book You Couldn’t Put Down

Before the Devil Breaks You Cover

Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray had me reading all almost 600 pages in a single sitting. I didn’t get anything done that day and I don’t regret it a bit. I’m even reviewing this one in late September!

Wind: A Book That Blew You Away

The Wicked Deep

The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw definitely fits this one! I went in a little skeptical because I knew it was sort of romance based, and that’s not really my thing, but it was AMAZING. It’s stunningly atmospheric and completely captivating. Well worth my time, and it went above and beyond expectations!

Hurricane: A Tragic Book

Book Thief Cover

I suspect The Book Thief by Markus Zusak might be a typical answer for this category, but oh, it fits so well. I can’t read this book without crying. It’s devastating but incredible, and one of my favorites of all time.

Blizzard: A Book You Had High Expectations For

Truly Devious Cover

Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson fits the bill! I’m picky about my mysteries because I’ve gotten halfway decent at recognizing the patterns and solving them, so it’s been super refreshing to come across a mystery I haven’t yet solved. ALSO, THERE ARE RIDDLES AND I LOVE RIDDLES.

Tornado: A Book You Didn’t Like at First but Ended Up Loving

All The Truth That's in Me Cover

All The Truth That’s in Me by Julie Berry should count here, I think. It wasn’t my top favorite book of all time, but even though I didn’t like how it started, by the end, I was totally engrossed in it! Ultimately worth my time, I think.

I really want to get into the Witchlands series sounds super interesting!

Also I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Before the Devil Breaks You. I haven’t gotten around to it yet but I’m hoping I’ll be able to read it before you post your review!

  2. I’m quite curious to read Sightwich! I’ve heard great things about it, but I have no idea what it’s about, which is a good thing I think. 😉 And oy, I read Book Thief only once (10 years ago) and just thinking about it makes me still makes me tear up. It’s a perfect choice!
